Great career opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor working for a Tier 1 contractor in the Southampton region\n**NOTE – There is also an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor\nThe position will be working on civils and water projects and offers an excellent opportunity for long term career progression\nResponsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor\n * Liaise with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control cost\n * Collaborative work with the client to ensure business requirements are met\n * Manage the main contract ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised as necessary\n * Preparation and issue of subcontract documentation\n * Assist in the management and performance of subcontractors\n * Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment\n * The preparation of project cost & value reports, budgets and forecasts.\n * Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff\n * Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.\n * Maintain a positive and solution oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.\nIdeal Knowledge, Skills and Experience\n * Knowledge of CEMAR\n * Non- Infrastructure water sector related experience\n * Notable years post graduate experience in construction industry in a commercial role\n * Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen\n * Excellent organisational and communication skills\n * Practical approach, logical thought process and a methodical way of working\n * Experience of setting up and/or operating office management systems including filing systems and document control and distribution\n * Experience of technical minute taking at contractual meetings and able to demonstrate the ability to collate information and prepare reports\n * Experience of drafting contractual correspondence on behalf of the Project Manager and preparation of payment certificates and interim financial reports\n * Negotiating and team-working skills and the ability to motivate and lead\n * Demonstrable legal, contractual and construction knowledge\n * A creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.\n * Experience of contributing to procurement and contract strategies.\nIdeal Qualifications\n * Holds an RICS/CICES accredited degree or enrolled on an accredited part-time post graduate degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience\n * Working towards or have chartered membership of a recognised institution\n * Experience in utilities/civil engineering/MEICA sectors\n * NEC3/4 Experience\nThis is an excellent opportunity for the right Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking career progression\nOn offer is a very attractive financial package\nApply now
